Michael Feyko

Michael Feyko is a Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. He is nominated for his work using golf as a sport and tool to help Veterans.

Following release, he turned to golf for a second career and eventually became a “Class A teaching professional” with the Professional Golf Association of Canada.

Since 2014, he has volunteered hundreds of hours as a professional golf instructor to assist ill and injured Veterans to “embrace golf as part of their recovery.” He helped the Soldier On program develop a world-renowned adaptive golf program that has directly helped some 200 Veterans discover a passion for the game. With his connections, he has also established a national network of ill/injured Veteran golfers in Canada who connect with each other regularly.

For Invictus Games 2017 in Toronto, he volunteered “months of his time” to be the golf team coach. Michael Feyko has had “an indelible impact on the recoveries and positive future of hundreds of Canada’s Veterans.”
