Mr. McGrattan is a former instructor of the Cadet Instructor Cadre with the Air Cadet program. He has served with the 534 Cadet Squadron Sponsoring Committee and as the national director of the Air Cadet League. Mr. McGrattan was a co-chair of the Little Lake Cemetery Veterans Memorial Committee, which created a memorial to Veterans’ graves and provided for a trust account to maintain the graves. He is currently the Director of History and Protocol for 428 Wing of the Air Force Association of Canada, where he has assisted in preserving the memory of the contribution of Air Force Veterans in Peterborough. Mr. McGrattan served as co-chair of the Peterborough Portraits of Honour Committee, bringing the Portraits of Honour Tour to the community. He developed a Veteran component to the event called Veterans Voices where more than 20 local Veterans were given an opportunity to speak about their experiences. He co-chaired the "Takin’ It to the Wall Fundraiser" for 428 Wing, which raised a large contribution for the Peterborough Wall of Honour. Mr. McGrattan assists local Veterans in organizing and cataloguing their pictures and papers and he has helped more than 15 Veterans in writing their memoirs.
