Mr. Arthur Haché

Mr. Haché is a Veteran of the Second World War. He is a much admired and modest gentleman who continues to perpetuate the memory of honouring Canadian soldiers while actively participating in numerous commemorative ceremonies annually in France. For many years, Mr. Haché has participated in the Acadian St-Aubin-sur Mer week in France, which honours Canadians who lost their lives liberating France during the Second World War. In 2006, Mr. Haché was involved with the unveiling of the 'la brèche des Acadiens' memorial, which commemorates the 500 Acadians who went ashore with the North Shore Regiment on D-Day on June 6, 1944. Mr. Haché shared his wartime experiences with delegates of the Acadian World Congress who attended a commemorative event in France in 2009. Mr. Haché provided an interview and shared stories of the North Shore regiment's involvement during the Second World War relating to the liberation of France for a documentary titled, "Une si jolie petite plage." Mr. Haché is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion in Caraquet, New Brunswick. He and his spouse volunteer their time with the Legion and other local service clubs catering to the needs of seniors.
