Mrs. Gwen Manderville

Mrs. Gwen Manderville is the widow of Naval Lieutenant, Chris Saunders, who was tragically killed in 2004, leaving Mrs. Manderville with two children, two-year-old Ben and six-week old, Luke. Since then, Mrs. Manderville has been heavily involved with the rights of spouses who have lost a loved one while serving their country. She is associated with the New Veterans Charter Advisory Group and the Joint Veterans Affairs Canada and National Defence Operational Stress Injury Support Bereavement Group. As a key member of the Family sub-committee of the Advisory Group, Mrs. Manderville has brought insight, experience and logic to the Committee's deliberations. Mrs. Manderville is one of the original volunteer members of the Bereavement Group which provides solace and advice to widows and parents of those killed in action. Dedicated to those who have suffered a tremendous loss, Mrs. Manderville is always available to provide personal comfort and advice to others who have shared her experience.
