A Veteran of the Canadian Regular and Reserve Forces with a career spanning more than 40 years, Mr. Jardine has served on numerous United Nations missions. Mr. Jardine has taken an active role in the Canadian Cadet Movement, and was presented with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the organization. He is currently preparing a detailed proposal on behalf of the Canadian Cadet Movement, looking at the location, cataloguing and determination of care and preservation needs for memorials in Canada. This program includes maintaining an inventory of War Memorials and working with local communities and groups to educate them on the care, preservation and restoration of monuments. In addition to his work on war memorials in Canada, Mr. Jardine is active in the remembrance of the sacrifice and achievements of Canada's Veterans. As a well-known and accomplished piper, Mr. Jardine performs at commemorative ceremonies at functions at hospitals, The Royal Canadian Legion branches and other community events.
