Mr. Myles Penny is well known in Thunder Bay for the good work he does for Veterans. He has devoted considerable amounts of his time to help Polish-Canadian Veterans with limited English, with their income tax returns, applications for disability benefits, assistance for medical costs, for home and automobile insurance and for obtaining visitors’ visas to their home country. Mr. Penny has also been an advocate for the homeless. At every turn, Mr. Penny has been there when needed. For almost two decades, he has been involved in the Cadets’ movement, helping to shape future leaders. Mr. Penny also spearheaded a major clothing drive to provide clothes for Polish Veterans living in poverty in Belarus. Mr. Penny has taken the Thunder Bay Military Museum from a concept to a viable operation, spending years to improve the Museum and encourage youth to learn about our military heritage.
