Mr. Normand-Guy Goudreau served in the Canadian Forces from 1956 to 1971. Mr. Goudreau has belonged to several Royal Canadian Legion branches since 1957. He was secretary-treasurer of Branch 83 in Joliette and participated in its restructuring. He was involved in building a Wall of Remembrance at Branch 79 in St-Jean-sur-le-Richelieu. As an officer of the Royal Canadian Legion, in 2005, he participated in the allocation of Poppy Campaign funds to various projects submitted by the Lanaudière Army and Navy Cadet Corps. Mr. Goudreau assists Veterans with their pension applications and informs them of the benefits and services offered by Veterans Affairs Canada. After his discharge in 1971, Mr. Goudreau volunteered to give speeches to the Optimist, Kiwanis, and Richelieu clubs, to chambers of commerce, and to school boards. A true ambassador for Veterans, he volunteered for almost ten years at Ste. Anne's Hospital, contributing to the well-being of Veterans. He also volunteered for three years at the St-Jude Hospital in Laval, and for four years at the St-Eusèbe long-term care facility in Joliette. Mr. Goudreau was also involved in several volunteer groups, clothing depots and fundraising activities. His unwavering dedication contributes significantly to the well-being of Veterans and his fellow citizens.
