Patricia Drew (posthumous)

Mrs. Drew served in the Canadian Women's Army Corps from 1945 to 1946 and from 1961 to 1979 where she was a staff member of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO. In 1975 she became an active member of Branch 33 of the Royal Canadian Legion. In 1976 she was appointed director of Branch Publicity when she introduced and personally wrote a weekly bilingual column for her local newspaper. Mrs. Drew also served as branch secretary for 12 years. Mrs. Drew served on the Board of Directors for the Aylmer Museum since 1988 and acted as board secretary for 15 years. She also assisted the museum in other support functions, such as administration, exhibit and design construction, tour guide and special events coordinator. In addition to her support of Veterans, Mrs. Drew also volunteered within her community as a member of the Saint Mark's Parent-Teacher Association, which included a term as president, and she volunteered at the Accès Volunteer Action Centre.
