Mrs. Slark is on the Executive Board of Directors of the B.C. Branch of the Burma Star Association, and she is the Assistant Editor of the Branch’s publication, “Thik Hai, Sahib.” Her late husband, a Second World War Veteran, served as the editor and Mrs. Slark took over his duties after his death. “Thik Hai, Sahib” allows members around the world to stay in touch with one another, particularly those whose local branches have closed. Mr. and Mrs. Slark paid all of the expenses involved with printing and mailing the publication on their own. She brings home-baking to executive meetings and ensures that all leftovers are sent home with the other Veteran members. Mrs. Slark also drives members of the Burma Star Association to funerals that they otherwise would have been unable to attend.
