Mr. Hooper has been an active member of the Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans in Canada since 1970. Since then, he has also volunteered much of his time with the Veterans in the Western Counties Wing at Parkwood Hospital in London, Ontario. Mr. Hooper volunteers at all annual summer barbecues as well as bingos. When he retired from his career in 1993, he was able to volunteer more of his time at Parkwood Hospital and began bartending at the Iron Duke Pub located in the Veterans’ Wing. He also entertained the residents every other week by playing guitar and singing songs. For the past three years, Mr. Hooper has volunteered at the Veterans’ Wing Friday Arts Program and has taken Veterans shopping the first Friday of each month. Mr. Hooper has served as a liaison officer for the Ontario Provincial Command at the Western Counties Wing for the past eight years.
