Mr. Paul Lee is a Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces and maintains an active membership with the 15th Field Artillery Regiment. In 2002, Mr. Lee joined Pacific Unit 280 of the Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada. He has served as president and is currently Treasurer and Service Officer. In these roles, he has organized the Unit’s participation in the annual Vimy Ridge Parade, has assisted in the organization of annual Remembrance Day parades, and has taken the lead on the annual Poppy Fund drive. Mr. Lee ensures that the welfare of Veterans is a primary focus and is sure to include them in all activities. There are approximately 20 Chinese Canadian Veterans of the Second World War living in Vancouver, and Mr. Lee has played a critical role in their lives. In 2004, Mr. Lee joined the Chinese Canadian Military Museum Society in Vancouver. He became a Public Relations Officer for the Society and, in this role, he visited public schools with Second World War Veterans to engage students and educate them on the contributions of Chinese Canadians to the Canadian Military in the First and Second World Wars. Mr. Lee has also held the role of curator and is the current Vice-President of the Society. Mr. Lee conducts tours of the museum for schools and the public, has been an organizer of the Canada Day museum display at Canada Place since 2007, and has been chair and co-chair of the annual fundraising dinner committee for the society for the past 10 years.
