A Veteran of the Second World War, Mr. Morrison fought in the Italian Campaign and other European theatres. Following the war, he joined the 89th Field battery in Woodstock and held the rank of Captain when he retired. Mr. Morrison was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 11 for more than 60 years and was an active member of the executive having held numerous positions, including President. Over the years, Mr. Morrison was heavily involved in the Poppy Campaign, served as a Board Member of the Veterans Home and worked on a Book of Remembrance for Branch 11 to perpetuate the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Mr. Morrison was also a charter member of the Woodstock Unit 95 of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada. Within that organization, he served on the executive and he was also chairman of the Honours and Awards Committee.
