Mr. Veilleux is a Canadian Forces Veteran with a long and varied 38-year career. He is an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #79 (Richelieu). He has fulfilled many roles, including president, 1st and 2nd vice president, director of public relations and chairman of several poppy campaigns. Since 2005, he continues to be Membership Chairman. The survival of Legion Branch #79 is due in part to Mr. Veilleux's hard and successful work in his role of Membership Chairman. He has organized several parades, visits Veterans at Ste. Anne's Hospital and is in charge of funerals for Veterans. He was a member of the organizing committee for the Quebec Provincial Legion command convention in 2007. Mr. Veilleux is also an active member of the Royal 22nd Regiment Association (Fort St. Jean Branch) and the Canadian Association of Veterans in United Nations Peacekeeping (Major General Alain Forand Branch).
