Mr. Price is a Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. He has been a very active member of the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) for over 57 years. Mr. Price’s impressive volunteer service with the RCL includes 6 years on the Poppy Committee, 23 years on the Seniors Housing Committee, 22 years as service officer for the Ontario Command, 30 years on the Sick and Visiting Committee, 12 years on the Building Committee (serving as chairman for 4 years, 12 years on the Transportation Committee for Veterans and Seniors, 4 years as chairman of the Remembrance Day Activities and 8 years as a member of that same committee.) Mr. Price also served as branch president for two years, was chairman of the District G Council Ontario Command for six years and was on the Remembrance Essay and Poems Committee. Mr. Price was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal with Palm Leaf—the RCL’s highest honour. In addition to his work with the RCL, Mr. Price has been actively involved with other Veterans’ organizations. He was the Eastern Ontario representative of the Last Post Fund for 25 years and Veterans’ pension officer for both the Canadian Guards Association and NATO Veterans Association. Mr. Price provides pension and benefit advice to a wide range of Veterans across Canada. For several years, Mr. Price has read the Act of Remembrance at the Beechwood Cemetery’s annual Remembrance Day service. He received the City of Pembroke’s Citizen of the Year in 1982 for his energetic leadership, professionalism, dedication, and compassion toward his fellow Veterans and Canadians.
