Ray Boutilier

Mr. Boutilier served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. He has been a loyal and dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 116 for more than 60 years. He has served on the Executive in every capacity - more than once. With the assistance of his wife, Mr. Boutilier was responsible for raising funds to construct and later expand the èLegion' building; they surpassed all expectations. In addition, he has worked tirelessly on the annual Poppy Campaign and he is a regular visitor to local schools where he tells students about the sacrifices and achievements of Canada's Veterans. He also participates in the "Battle of Atlantic" ceremonies held in local churches where he reads the list of Canadian ships lost in battle. Through his selfless service and devotion, Mr. Boutilier has made an enormous contribution to his fellow Veterans, his local community and his country.
