Mr. Donati retired from the Canadian Forces in 1994, after 33 years of service. He is a member of several organizations including the Canadian Association of United Nations Peacekeepers, The Signallers Club of Canada, the NATO Veterans Association and the Amicale of the Régiment de la Chaudière. He is The Royal Canadian Legion #4 (Quebec) District Commander, the Service Officer of Branch #249 and a Poppy Committee member. In addition to assisting Veterans and participating in and organizing ceremonies and activities, Mr. Donati is known locally for his community support. He is one of the volunteers of Veterans Affairs Canada's Long-Term Care program, regularly visits Veterans in their residences and helps residents in need of furniture, clothes and food through his work as the secretary of the Comité d'Aide Beauceville. He is also a Third and Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and participates in fundraising for several charitable organizations.
