Reverend Howard Gorle

Hamilton, Ontario

Reverend Howard Gorle enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1962. Following his discharge, he obtained his Masters in Divinity and became a chaplain. Reverend Gorle is a lifetime member and chaplain for the Hamilton Naval Veterans Association. Despite injuries which prevent him from full-time employment, Reverend Gorle devotes 20 hours a week ministering to the bereaved, injured, and lost. To reach out to others outside his own community, he has developed, and maintains, a website on issues related to bereavement. Reverend Gorle has also undertaken to educate high school students on the role of the Navy and other services during times of conflict.
