Mr. Clarke is a Korea War Veteran and served in the Canadian Forces until retirement in 1972. He has been an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion for more than 35 years and is a life member of Branch #107 Chase. Mr. Clarke has held numerous executive positions including zone commander, finance chair and president. He is a flag-bearer and marches in parades whenever there is a need. Mr. Clarke annually visits local schools to speak to students about the importance of remembrance. At his own expense, he will travel hundreds of miles to surrounding cities offering service and comfort to Veterans residing in hospitals and other senior facilities. Mr. Clarke has been awarded with the Legionnaire of the Year and the Meritorious Service Medal.
