Richard Halliday

East Clifford, Nova Scotia

Mr. Halliday is a Canadian Forces Naval Veteran. He has been heavily involved with naval organizations since his retirement. Mr. Halliday served as president of the South Shore Naval Association (SSNA) from 1994 1997 and was instrumental in the affiliation of SSNA with the Royal Canadian Naval Association. Since 1997, Mr. Halliday has been Chair of the Entertainment Committee and sat on the Board of Directors for several years. Mr. Halliday's outstanding organizational skills have been instrumental in the success of many social events and ceremonies. Under his chairmanship, he ensured the flawless organization of the SSNA's 53rd Annual Reunion, where more than 1,200 Veterans from Canada, USA, Australia, Mexico and Europe attended. Mr. Halliday currently serves as Parliamentary and Veterans Affairs Officer on the National Executive of the Royal Canadian Naval Association and continues to assist Veterans in obtaining benefits. Mr. Halliday also belongs to The Royal Canadian Legion and three Chief Petty Officer's Associations.
