Mr. and Mrs. MacFarlane are Veterans of the Canadian Forces. They are members of Woodstock Unit 95 of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada, and have both served in executive positions. Together, Mr. and Mrs. MacFarlane are leaders in arranging tributes to Veterans on the occasion of their passing. They are active in visiting Veterans who reside in facilities or who are in hospital. The MacFarlanes routinely drive Veterans who have no transportation to unit meetings and take the time to call Veterans to ensure they are in good health. Mr. MacFarlane is a member of the Army Cadet League of Canada and with his ANAVETS unit, works to support the local cadet corps. During Veterans’ Week, the MacFarlanes are active in organizing parades and visiting local schools.
