Mr. Burridge is the peer facilitator for the Nanaimo Operational Stress Injury Social Support (OSISS) group. He goes above and beyond his duties as a volunteer. Mr. Burridge engages in outreach to Veterans who are either unable or otherwise not ready to attend the group sessions, making himself available for assistance at any hour of any day for group members. Mr. Burridge also organizes informal luncheons and potluck dinners to allow group members with social difficulties to have an opportunity to socialize in a comfortable environment. He does all this while managing his own operational stress injuries and with no formal background in social work. An active listener, Mr. Burridge is calm, compassionate, thoughtful, attentive, and always willing to help ensure the wellness of his fellow Veterans.
