Robert Cochran

Mr. Cochran is a Veteran of the Second World War. A Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #62 (Peninsula), Mr. Cochran currently serves as Honorary President and represents the Branch at various functions, such as spring and fall rallies, Veterans and friends dinners, funeral tribute services, Cadet parades, school and church remembrance services and annual Remembrance Day parades. Mr. Cochran served as Branch service officer for many years, working to assist Veterans with various benefits and attending annual Branch service officer seminars. In his capacity as service officer, he organized the Branch’s participation in the twice yearly visit to Ridgewood Veterans Wing in Saint John, organizing treats for the Veterans. While he is no longer Branch service officer, Mr. Cochran assists the current Service Officer and continues to assist with the Veterans Visitation at Ridgewood. He speaks to various groups such as the MacDonald Consolidated School, 140 Peninsula Army Cadets and seniors groups, about his experiences during the war and the importance of remembrance. He is a recipient of The Royal Canadian Legion’s Meritorious Service Medal for his dedicated service to the Legion.
