Robert Jones

A distinguished member of his community, Mr. Robert Jones has a long list of achievements as a volunteer. Mr. Jones has held a number of executive positions within The Royal Canadian Legion, including a 20-year term as Dominion Treasurer. He was also Chairman of the Dominion Command Centennial Committee in 1967, successfully raising $1 Million, and because of accumulated interest since then, over $3 million has been spent on youth programs throughout Canada. As Chairman of the Hampton Branch 28, Mr. Jones raised $60,000 for a new cenotaph and surrounding area which is now named Veterans' Park. He is a Life Member of the Legion and has received Meritorious Service Medals from both his Branch and Provincial Command. Mr. Jones has volunteered on the executive of several organizations including serving as President of the Workmen's Compensation Board of Canada, Vice-President of the Canadian Safety Council, Vice-President of St. John Ambulance - New Brunswick Division, Vice-President and Treasurer of the Saint John Regional Hospital Board, Director of the Foundation for the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre nursing home and President of New Brunswick's Canadian Paraplegic Association. Mr. Jones is committed to commemorating the memory of Canada's Veterans.
