Mr. McNeilly is an active member of Branch 120 of The Royal Canadian Legion. He has assisted with organizing numerous Remembrance Day and commemorative events in the Halton Hills community for more than eight years. For the past seven years, Mr. McNeilly has organized the annual Halton Hills Candlelight Tribute. On May 3, 2007, close to 1,700 students from 18 schools in the area participated with Veterans in the symbolic passing of the torch of remembrance. These events garner media and public attention, which provides local youth an opportunity to learn about Canada's contributions during times of war and peace, and to learn about the community's history and heritage.
