Mr. Underhill is a retired member of the RCMP with over 38 years of service. He is a planning member of the Vancouver Remembrance Day Observance Committee (RDOC), which has organized Remembrance Day ceremonies for the City of Vancouver for the past twenty years. Mr. Underhill holds the positions of Vigil Guard Commander and Deputy Parade Commander. He was one of the members of the RDOC that helped create the Vancouver Cadet Flag Party, which is made up of cadets from all military and St John Ambulance cadet corps in Vancouver. Mr. Underhill has also been an integral part of the annual “Salute to the Veterans” half-time show at the B.C. Lions home game in November each year. In this capacity he arranges and coordinates the marching of the parade on and off the field, consisting of approximately 800 members. Mr. Underhill is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL), having served as an executive member, Service Officer, Poppy Chairman, and currently as Branch President. He has spent countless hours assisting with Veterans programs and educating local youth on the contributions of Canadian men and women in uniform. Mr. Underhill has shown unwavering dedication to the care of Veterans and still-serving RCMP and CAF members.
