Robert Siddons

Mr. Siddons is a British Veteran of the Second World War. He served as an armourer in 800 Squadron of the Fleet Air Arm. He is an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 263 and the Burma Star Association's British Columbia Branch. He has served the latter Association as Vice President, President and is now in his fifth year as Welfare Officer, assisting Veterans with advice and guidance on pension and benefit entitlements. He visits shut ins and hospitals on a regular basis and provided assistance through the Welfare Fund to widows of deceased members. Mr. Siddons actively participates in the Legion=s annual Poppy Campaign and speaks to school children on the importance and meaning of Remembrance Day. Although disabled, Mr. Siddons has spent countless hours meeting with other Veterans' groups, departments and agencies in order to provide assistance to those less fortunate
