Robert Trépanier

Shawinigan, Quebec

Chief Warrant Officer (Retired) Robert Trépanier is a 35-year Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces nominated for his work ensuring that Veterans get the benefits and supports they deserve.

Immediately after his retirement, he focused his time on helping Veterans. He helps coordinate the visits by Veterans Affairs Canada Veterans’ Services staff to long-term care facilities in his community. He spends much of his time visiting Veterans and helping them get the services and benefits to which that are they are entitled.

He has organized several events including the Lieutenant-General (Retired) Roméo Dallaire PTSD Conference and a town hall meeting with the former Minister of Veterans Affairs, the Honourable Seamus O’Regan. He has organized several dinners for Veterans as part of the Operational Stress Injury Social Support program. He established the Mission Option Santé, which helps Veterans reduce the symptoms of mental illness through physical activity.

As president of the Royal Canadian Legion branch 44 Shawinigan, he helps organize commemorative ceremonies in schools during Veterans Week and when the need arises, assists families with formal arrangements for a military presence at funerals.
