Mr. Soucy is a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran. He has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 17 years. Mr. Soucy is currently in his second mandate as President of Branch 02 (Saint Hyacinthe), and he has served as the Branch’s delegate to District 10 South Shore. He has been elected as Commander of Legion District 10 in May of last year. Mr Soucy has served as a Legion long-term surveyor for the last four years and was responsible for his branch’s Poppy Campaign in 2011 and 2012. He is a Life Member of the Legion and was named Legionnaire of the Year in 2010. Mr. Soucy visits a number of Francophone and Anglophone schools to teach them about the contributions of Veterans from the Second World War and after. He regularly visits retired Veterans receiving home care or who are in assisted living facilities.
