Ronald Edison

A Canadian Forces veteran of the Navy and member of Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS), Mr. Edison has been assisting veterans ever since joining the association in 1967. He has been visiting ill veterans in their homes, and has sold poppies to assist veterans with their physical and financial needs. Mr. Edison has held several executive positions in the organization, including those of Sgt-at-Arms, Unit President, and was elected to the Executive Board of the Ontario Provincial Command. Mr. Edison has donated his time to work on committees and acted as Entertainment and Sports Chairman. In addition to being re-elected to the Executive Board for the past 20 years, Mr. Edison has also served as a Director of Dominion Command for the past 21 years. He has been assisting Sunnybrook Hospital veterans by coordinating entertainment, parties and games throughout the year. Mr. Edison has played a key role in the ANAVETS Youth Development program, imparting to youth, knowledge about Canada's military and parliamentary procedures. In recognition of his dedication to veterans, Mr. Edison has received several awards, including the Queen's 50th Birthday Medal, the Queen's Jubilee Medal, the Canada 125 Anniversary Medal and numerous awards from his ANAVETS Unit.
