Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia

Mr. Elliott is a retired Canadian Forces Veteran who served in the Navy. He is a life member of The Royal Canadian Legion, having been active in all facets of his local branch. He has held numerous positions on the Executive, including branch president. In 1988, he single-handedly raised $10,000 to have a naval monument erected in memory of Second World War Veterans who were lost at sea. The monument was dedicated in 1990 at the Armed Forces training establishment of Canadian Forces Base Cornwallis in Deep Brook, Nova Scotia. When the base closed in 1994, Mr. Elliott devoted his time and energy to ensuring the preservation of its 52-year history. His efforts were realized in 1997 when St. George's Chapel was dedicated and became the HMCS/CFB Cornwallis Military Museum Chapel. Mr. Elliott is a volunteer guide and a life member of the museum in recognition of his leadership and dedication.
