Ronald Webber

Mr. Webber served in the Canadian Scottish Regiment (Reserve) for two years before serving in the Canadian Army with the 2nd Battalion of the Black Watch of Gagetown, New Brunswick. He also served as honorary colonel of the 407 Long Range Patrol Squadron at Canadian Forces Base Comox for seven years. Mr. Webber is a member of Branch 17 of The Royal Canadian Legion in Courtenay, British Columbia. He chaired the Legion Memorial Wall of Recognition committee that organized and produced the large photo murals mounted on the side of Sid William’s Community Theatre, honouring the past and present Canadian military members and peacekeepers, including women and First Nations people. After five years of persistence and hard work, the Wall of Recognition’s dedication ceremony was held in 2011. Mr. Webber served as the Courtenay Legion’s November 11th Remembrance Day chairman for close to 20 years. He co-organized a charity Plane Pull with members of 407 Squadron and community groups, which raised funds for The British Columbia Lions Society for Children with Disabilities. Mr. Webber also co-organized a Red Friday community event to honour serving members of the military.
