Mrs. Wilkinson is a Veteran of the Second World War and a proud member of the Canadian Women’s Army Corps (CWAC). In 1998, she was contacted to create an exhibit on the CWAC for The Military Museum in Calgary, Alberta. Ten years later, she again assisted with the redevelopment of the CWAC exhibit and became part of the advisory group for the new Museum of Alberta. Mrs. Wilkinson also assists with the education department of The Military Museum by touring school and youth groups throughout the year and with increasing frequency during the Remembrance timeframe. She does many outreach speaking requests at schools and is the key advisor in the development of the education program “Women in War”. Mrs. Wilkinson is also a reliable and consistent host at the front desk every Thursday. She tirelessly volunteers her time and has raised the profile of women in the Canadian Armed Forces, past and present.
