Roy Mah

A decorated Veteran, Mr. Mah led the first Chinese-Canadian contingent to fight the Japanese Army in the Malaysia-Singapore battle during the Second World War. A founding member of the Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans Association (ANAVETS) in Canada, Pacific Unit 280, Mr. Mah wrote a special commemorative book on the history of the Pacific Unit 280, telling the story of Chinese-Canadian Veterans during the Second World War. Mr. Mah was among the first Board members of the Chinese-Canadian Military Museum Society, which opened the only museum of its kind in Canada, displaying the sacrifice and contributions made by local Chinese-Canadian Veterans during the Second World War. Mr. Mah has appeared in several documentary films and has been active in preserving and promoting the memory of the achievements and sacrifice of Chinese-Canadian Veterans.
