North Vancouver, British Columbia
Mr. Mosdell is a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran who served for 14 years. He retired after receiving an injury during a combat incursion in Egypt, in 1963. He has been a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 118, in North Vancouver, since 1974. In 1983, Mr. Mosdell’s dedication to serving Veterans led him to become the Sick and Visiting Officer, a position that he holds to this day. He visits the Lions Gate Hospital seven days a week and provides comfort, conversation and compassion to all those in need. At least twice a month, Mr. Mosdell also visits the Capilano Care Centre, the Cedarview Lodge, the George Derby Veterans Hospital, the Inglewood Lodge, the Brock Fahrni Veterans Hospital and the Kiwanis Care Centre. He faithfully reports back on all the patients he visits, and he is often the only individual to visit many of these Veterans before they pass away.
