Mr. Gallant is a retired captain of the Air Cadets. He also has more than 25 years of experience as an administrator in the PEI school system, having been teacher, vice principal and principal at a variety of elementary and secondary schools. He served as a member of the Veterans Review and Appeal Board of Canada from 1994 to 2002. Mr. Gallant has been heavily involved with the Air Cadets for many years and served as chairman of the Sponsoring Committee for 641 Squadron, vice-president and president of the Air Cadet League of PEI, and director of the Air Cadet League of Canada. He has been a member of Canadian Legion since 1971 and has served as treasurer, secretary, chairman of the Education Committee and two terms as Branch #6 president. Mr. Gallant is the recipient of the RCL’s Certificate of Merit, Diamond Jubilee Medal, and the 75th Anniversary Medal. Additionally, he has received the Canada 125 Medal, Certificate of Honour and Certificate of Excellence from the Air Cadet League of Canada.
