A Second World War Veteran, Mr. Russell Jasper, has been a dedicated member of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS) for 61 years and has worked closely with the Calgary Poppy fund. Mr. Jasper has served in a number of executive positions within ANAVETS including four years as Provincial President and six years as Dominion Vice-President. Mr. Jasper is the General Manager of the casinos for Unit 2 of ANAVETS, where he organizes casinos to raise funds for cadets groups as well as Scouts in Calgary. Mr. Jasper has also raised funds to provide seniors in his community with limited means with good meals and social activities. In 1988, Mr. Jasper assisted as Chairman of Volunteers for the Calgary Olympics. Mr. Jasper's unwavering commitment and dedication to Veterans and seniors within his community is a source of inspiration to us all.
