Mrs. Bond-Martinson is a Veteran of the Second World War and served in the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service. For more than 35 years, she has been actively involved in the Maple Leaf Unit-the only all-female Veterans group within Canada. The organization supports and participates in all local commemorative events and is involved in fundraising for various local charities. Additionally, Mrs. Bond-Martinson has been an active member of several other organizations including the Navy League of Canada; the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets where she was a cadet instructor; United Service Institute; Corps of Commissionaires; and the Last Post Fund. Mrs. Bond-Martinson is also on the Sherbrooke Board representing Veterans.
