Sandi Greenfield

Vancouver, British Columbia

Ms. Greenfield works full time at Vancouver’s emergency 911 call centre. Her dedication to Veterans and the cause of remembrance stems from her work with the Vancouver City Police whose members serve and put themselves in harm’s way so that the community can be safe. She has volunteered many hours over the course of her 21 years with the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS) association and is currently the First Vice-President of Unit 68. She is a member of the ANAVETS British Columbia Command Colour Guard and is the Secretary and Coordinator for the South Vancouver Veterans Council, organizing the annual Remembrance Day parade and memorial ceremony at the cenotaph in Memorial South Park. In 2010, Ms. Greenfield volunteered as a poppy tagger for the Vancouver Poppy Fund. She has dedicated much of her time and energy to preparing crosses for each Veteran named on the local cenotaph, ensuring each cross provided some information about the deceased Veteran. The crosses were carried by youth on parade, and placed on the grass for public viewing. Ms. Greenfield promotes remembrance to the public in a positive, uplifting way.
