Scott Maxwell

Whitby, Ontario

Mr. Maxwell is the Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada and he was born and raised in Bowmanville, Ontario. After graduating from Bowmanville High School, as an Ontario Scholar, he went on to complete a Specialist Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Canadian Public Policy at the University of Toronto. During his time as an assistant in Queen’s Park, Mr. Maxwell was involved in several high-profile, Consular Affairs cases, interceding and advocating for Canadians detained abroad. Engaged in Canada’s energy market, he worked tirelessly, bringing greater awareness and attention to the challenges facing the industry in our country. Through his dedicated advocacy, Mr. Maxwell was able to advance a number of social policy improvements, focusing particularly on mental health and the services available to those in need across Ontario. On June 11, 2007, when his high school friend, Trooper Darryl Caswell was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan, Mr. Maxwell vowed that he would give back to those who so bravely serve Canada. On January 8, 2013, he accepted the position of Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada—an organization and cause that he still proudly serves.
