Sharon Scott

Ms. Scott is an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #5. In 2008 she became Chair of the Poppy Sales Committee and in her limited spare time, she tirelessly organized locations and members to man the boxes, replenished boxes and supervised Cadets during poppy tag day. As a result of Ms. Scott's efforts, poppy sales in 2008 increased considerably. Ms. Scott assists at each monthly Legion breakfast, which provides meals to 150 persons. She has volunteered her time to assist with the local Veterans luncheons which are held annually in November. On Remembrance Day, Ms. Scott ensured her Army Reserve Unit's participation at the local ceremonies. Later that same day, she hurried to Branch #5 to assist with the Silver Cross Mother's luncheon. As a single parent, raising two teenagers, Ms. Scott still finds the time to dedicate herself to Veterans and commemorative ceremonies.
