Solange Lemieux

A retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Ms. Lemieux has served as clerk for members of 302 Wing in Québec-Valcartier for over eight years. Since leaving her military duties, she has been heavily involved in many Veteran and military causes. As a resource person, Ms. Lemieux makes it her duty to support and educate her brothers and sisters-in-arms about the various services and treatments available to them. She also makes herself available to families of deployed CAF members by organizing social activities and giving them moral support. In 2015 and 2016, Ms. Lemieux participated in a humanitarian mission to Haiti where she organized weaving courses while working in parallel with a team from Volunteer Canada to help them in their efforts to build a school. Ms. Lemieux is also a member of branch 265 of The Royal Canadian Legion where she was awarded numerous Legion bars for her dedication to Veterans. Through her peer-acknowledged involvement and leadership, Ms. Lemieux helps to perpetuate the memory of the sacrifices of Canada’s Veterans through commemoration initiatives and projects.
