Mr. Pratt is a RCMP Veteran and a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion. At the age of 91, Mr. Pratt is a formidable fundraiser for the Royal Canadian Legion's annual Business Poppy Campaign. In 2009, he collected $27,120 for the campaign, plus $50,000 for the BC/Yukon Foundation for the benefit of Veterans and/or their dependents. The following year he collected $28,500 for the campaign and $5,000 for the Foundation. This year he bettered his own fundraising, collecting $30250 single-handedly. Each hear the amounts collected by Mr. Pratt represent more than one-fifth of all funds collected yearly in the Poppy Fund Campaign by Kelowna Legion Branch #26. Mr. Pratt has been contributing to the Kelowna Legion Poppy Fund drive for the past 19 years, canvassing five days a week, for more than six weeks prior to Remembrance Day.
