T. Errol Laughlin

Summerside, Prince Edward Island

Mr. Laughlin, a Second World War Veteran, has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for more than 50 years and has served in positions of increasing responsibility. More recently, Mr. Laughlin played a leading role in undertaking several commemorative projects honouring Canadian Veterans on Prince Edward Island. He served as the chairman and fund-raiser for the Mural Millennium project at the RCL Summerside Legion Branch No. 5, where a large mural depicting members of the Canadian Forces adorns the west wall of the George R. Pearkes, V.C., Building. Mr. Laughlin also spearheaded the creation of the Monument, located in Summerside's Memorial Square, which commemorates the airmen who lost their lives while serving in PEI. In addition to this important work, Mr. Laughlin has been a key leader in the Air Cadet League of Canada, and he continues to serve several community-based organizations. Mr. Laughlin has made a tremendous contribution to the well-being of Veterans and to the promotion of the memory of their sacrifice and achievements. His exceptional leadership in the community will be remembered by his fellow Veterans and citizens for many years to come.
