Terence Wickens

Mr. Wickens, a Veteran of the Korean War, served in the British Army until 1956. He and his family emigrated to Canada in 1966. In addition to volunteer work on behalf of the Royal Canadian Legion, Mr. Wickens has been a very active member of the Korea Veterans Association. He served as President of his local Unit, then President of the Ontario Region, and he is the National President. When travel distance permitted, Mr. Wickens used to make monthly visits to Sunnybrook Hospital where he also organized annual pre-Christmas luncheons with entertainment and gifts for each Korea Veteran. Over the years, he has assisted many Veterans with their applications for benefits and medical appointments. Mr. Wickens has spoken at many public events about the service and sacrifice of Canada’s Veterans. His contribution was also instrumental in the success of many commemorative projects including the Monument for the Canadian Fallen in Busan, the Veteran's Memorial in Kawartha Lakes, and the improvements made to the Korea Veterans National Wall of Remembrance in Brampton.
