Thomas Eagles

Mr. Eagles has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) for 36 years and is a Life Member. He has served in every executive position at the branch level, including president for six years. For the past 20 years, he has served as Poppy Chairman of his local branch, raising more than $100,000 for Veterans, their spouses and families. Representing the RCL, he has been on the Board of the Tobique Valley Manor for five years and organizes the annual Remembrance Day service for Veterans who reside there. Mr. Eagles has also held various positions at RCL New Brunswick Command, including president. Currently, he is President of the Dominion Command as well as former Chairman of the National Poppy and Remembrance Committee. In 2011, Mr. Eagles headed a delegation of youth that went to Europe to visit the battle sites of Canadian Veterans of the First and Second World Wars. During Veterans’ Week, he visits schools to help teach young Canadians about the achievements and sacrifices of Canada’s Veterans, organizing school Remembrance Day activities for the past 20 years. Mr. Eagles is also the recipient of the Canada 125 medal and the Queens Golden and Diamond Jubilee Medals.
