Thomas Finn

Mr. Finn is a Korea War Veteran and retired Canadian Forces Veteran. He is a long time member of The Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 5, and currently Branch 6. He has served on the Legion Executive as Sergeant-at-Arms and he has been Chairman of the Sick and Visiting Committee. Through his work with the Sick and Visiting Committee, Mr. Finn became involved with Veterans residing at George Derby Centre. He is dedicated to spending quality time with the Veterans and with providing them the care and comfort they so rightly deserve. Mr. Finn assists the Padre at the George Derby Centre with monthly memorials. In addition, Mr. Finn has made numerous bird houses and other wooden objects, which he donates to the residents in the craft shop to paint. Mr. Finn is known to dress as a leprechaun for St. Patrick's Day and Santa Claus at Christmas when visiting the Veterans. He instigated a program at Branch 6, whereby $240 a month is donated to help individual Veterans. Mr. Finn also assists at an annual candlelight ceremony in his community, placing candles on the war graves of Veterans. Mr. Finn is greatly admired by the Veterans he serves.
