Thomas Joordens CD

Mr. Joordens is a retired Canadian Forces Veteran. As a member of the Knights of Columbus, he spearheaded a project to send 15,000 Christmas cards and 25,000 pocket books to Canadian Forces personnel in Bosnia. For this, he was awarded the organization's "To be a Patriot" award. Mr. Joordens became the first town crier for the City of Fredericton, New Brunswick and held this position for 16 years. He organized and chaired two "911 Celebrations" honouring the province's emergency services personnel. He chaired the 50th Anniversary of the Canada-Holland Military reunion. Currently, Mr. Joordens is the national president of the NATO Veterans Organization, which he founded in 2006 to unite all Canadian Forces personnel who served in NATO missions. It began with only five members and has grown to include more than 825 members worldwide. Mr. Joordens is a recipient of the Centennial Medal and the Canada 125 Medal.
