Mrs. Hoppe is a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion—a distinction awarded for her outstanding service. An active volunteer, she currently serves as President of Branch 120, in Nipawin. Making significant contributions in all that she does, Mrs. Hoppe conducts the Branch’s annual Remembrance Day service and participates in Nipawin’s Memorial Day events, placing flags on Veterans’ graves and directing the services. During the Year of the Veteran, Mrs. Hoppe was a flag bearer at all homecoming events in Nipawin and surrounding communities. In 2012 and 2013, Mrs. Hoppe was a committee member and the honourary chairperson for the Wounded Warriors Weekend, ensuring its success through her hard work and dedication to detail. Mrs. Hoppe is committed to ensuring the welfare of local Veterans and is a recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
