Viateur Lavoie

St-Jean-sur-le-Richelieu, Quebec

Mr. Lavoie is a Korea War Veteran and continued to serve in the Canadian Forces from 1952 to 1976. He has always been devoted to the well-being of Veterans, participating in numerous Remembrance Day parades and visiting Veterans at Ste. Anne=s Hospital. Mr. Lavoie has assured that local cadets visit the cemetery at Pointe-Claire to remember those who have served their country. He has been active in a fundraising campaign for a "Remembrance Wall" at The Royal Canadian Legion of Saint-Jean-sur-le-Richelieu. Mr. Lavoie has been instrumental in guaranteeing Veterans access to the Oasis Complex. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for several years and fulfills the roles of Treasurer and Chairman of the Poppy Campaign. In the past, Mr. Lavoie and his energetic and enthusiastic team have raised $100,000. Mr. Lavoie is also heavily involved with fundraising through his memberships with the Vandoos, the Optimist Club and as a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. At the heart of all he does, is Mr. Lavoie's commitment to his comrades-in-arms.
