Vince Hands

Mr. Hands is a retired Canadian Forces (Reserves) Veteran. As a resident of Maple Ridge for the past 14 years, he has played a key role in planning the City's annual Remembrance Day Service either as the commander of the Honour Guard and/or arriving early to prepare the site. Mr. Hands is also involved with remembrance projects at local schools, local Veterans' tribute events, Canada Day 2005 and 2007 Veteran celebrations in Port Moody and the 2008 British Columbia "Salute to our Veterans" in the city of Burnaby. Mr. Hands volunteers at the Canadian Military Education Centre and Museum in Chilliwack and is a long-time participant in military events at Parks Canada Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site where he educates visitors on Canada's military heritage. Mr. Hands has been instrumental in passing the torch of remembrance to youth through the Cadet League and school activities.
